Toys & Treats

Toys & Treats

Horses are intelligent, social animals — and a bored horse finds its own entertainment, which usually involves breaking something. Toys and treats provide enrichment that keeps horses happy, occupied, and out of trouble.

What to Look For

  • Treat balls: slow-release feeders that make horses work for treats
  • Lickits and salt licks: for stable and field
  • Stable toys: hanging balls and mirrors for horses that box-walk or weave
  • Field toys: sturdy, safe, and impossible to eat

Our Advice

Enrichment isn’t a luxury — it’s welfare. Horses in stalls need mental stimulation, and even turned-out horses enjoy a treat ball. Start with one toy, watch how your horse uses it, and rotate toys to keep them interesting.
