Leg Protection

Leg Protection

Leg protection keeps your horse’s legs safe during work, travel, and turnout. The right boots or bandages prevent strikes, overreach injuries, and brushing — but the wrong ones can rub, overheat, or trap dirt.

What to Look For

  • Brushing boots: for flatwork and jumping — protect the inside of the leg
  • Tendon boots: for jumping and cross-country — protect the front of the leg
  • Overreach boots: for horses that clip their heels with their hind feet
  • Travel boots: full-leg protection for the trailer

Our Advice

Fit is everything. Boots that are too loose rotate and rub; too tight restrict movement and cause heat buildup. Check for rub marks after every ride, and never leave boots on longer than needed.
